To explain a little bit more about myself, I am currently a fourth year student at the University of Toronto, currently majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I am an ambitious Chinese person with American ideals. I have a variety of interests which I often elaborate on this blog.
I started this website because of my passion for technology. I enjoy working on projects and I enjoy programming over theory. My love of technology is what caused me to join computer science, but I admit I am more or less an average student.
Finance and Politics are another interest. My opinions are often very conservative and traditional but I am politically a moderate Democrat. I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I am a big investor and like taking risks.
History and Philosophy are yet another interest that intrigues me because of my constant drive for knowledge. It is interesting to observe how the world works because life makes a bit more sense that way. It is interesting to see who and what shaped this and that and why it happens that way. I am classically trained on history; raised on Plato, fascinated with Descartes and Newton and matured with Tesla and Kennedy.
My love of music is my (final?) interest and some of my productions can be found in the media section of this website as well as my blog posts. I like to teach myself new things. I taught myself to play guitar, piano and I like to learn new things to help expand my knowledge. I often go on Wikipedia for fun to read random articles and also look up random words in the Chinese dictionary to improve my Chinese. I learned C++ and Groovy/Grails in my spare time.
I believe true success is not just being financially secure – it’s having the friends and family you need to be there for you. Whatever my goals may be, I’m stubborn and persistent to the point of frustrating others in achieving them.
